Ethics and Disclosures

The International Journal of Life, Environment and Engineering Sciences (IJLEES) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics, research integrity, and transparency. Authors, reviewers, and editors are expected to adhere to the following principles:

1. Publication Ethics
  •    All manuscripts must represent original, unpublished work and must not be under consideration elsewhere.
  •    Plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, or duplicate publication is strictly prohibited.
  •    The journal follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to resolve cases of misconduct.

2. Authorship and Contributions
  •    Authorship must reflect individuals who made substantial intellectual contributions to the research (concept, design, data collection, analysis, or writing).
  •    The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all co-authors approve the final manuscript.
  •    Ghost authorship, gift authorship, or omission of contributors is unethical and will not be accepted.

3. Research Ethics

  •    Human Studies: Research involving human participants must comply with the Declaration of Helsinki and include approval from an Institutional Review Board (IRB)/Ethics Committee. Written informed consent must be obtained where applicable.
  •    Animal Studies: Research involving animals must follow institutional, national, or international guidelines for the ethical treatment of animals and must include ethical clearance.
  •    Environmental and Field Research: Studies involving environmental sampling, biodiversity, or indigenous knowledge should ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations, respecting community rights and environmental sustainability.

4. Conflicts of Interest

  •    Authors must disclose any financial, institutional, or personal relationships that could influence the research.
  •    Reviewers and editors must also declare conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where conflicts exist.
  •    If no conflicts exist, authors must state: “The authors declare no conflict of interest.”

5. Funding Disclosure

  •    Authors are required to clearly identify all sources of financial support, grants, or sponsorship that contributed to the research and publication of the manuscript.

6. Data Availability and Transparency

  •    Authors should ensure that data, methods, and materials are described in sufficient detail for reproducibility.
  •    Where possible, datasets should be made publicly available or shared upon reasonable request.

7. Acknowledgements

  •    All individuals or organizations that contributed to the research but do not meet authorship criteria should be acknowledged (e.g., technical assistance, language editing, or financial support).

8. Corrections and Retractions

  •    If errors or ethical issues are identified post-publication, the journal will issue corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions in accordance with COPE guidelines.
  •    Authors have a duty to cooperate in correcting the record when necessary.

9. Editorial Independence

  •    Editorial decisions are made solely on the basis of academic merit, originality, and relevance.
  •    Advertisements, sponsorship, or institutional affiliations do not influence editorial decisions.
